Miss me?
Haha, thought so. After a long reprieve from design, I was struck with some inspiration from the least likely of things, but that doesn't matter now. I am continuing the adventure, although it will take some time after making the decision to revise the design and redesign the format. The new coloring scheme of the plans is taking longer than I expected, but overall, I think it's worth the weight. With the way I have arranged the labeling, it looks less cluttered and should be easier to follow. I guess there is no right way of assembling plans for a ship and with the odd design of the ship, placing callouts and leaders can be tedious to say the least.
In any case, I hope you all enjoy the new work. I will be taking down the previous versions so not to confuse anyone. I appreciate the comments and favs of the previous plans as they were (and still are) a labor of love. Patience is a virtue they say...I just hope I get everything right.
Cheers,
Jim

Fork in the road
So after posting a revised and colored version of the Ambassador Refit plan, I am left standing at a fork in the road and I would love to get some opinions from the masses. I have taken up the duty of finishing what I intended to do months ago with regard to the Ambassador, but after colorizing the dorsal plan, I relaized just how much work is involved. Since I work in CADD all the time to produce plans, the methods for output is a bit of trickery, meaning that I render the views in a way that they come out smooth and clearer at high resolution, instead of the normal output to printers, so in essence, there aren't any "jaggies". Anywho, af
Birthday Bad Luck
I had decided a little while ago to put all Trek related work on the back burner, mainly because I needed a break. I started to get back into FSX and I also recently figured out how to do repaints, which was cool...then my birthday came and all hell broke loose. Birthdays are supposed to be happy times...typically for people other than me.
Sunday morning, my computer wouldn't boot. Long story short, Dell put in a service request to replace my laptop's mobo and HDD. After repeated troubleshooting attempts, I ultimately overwrote my backup HDD...all data gone. After that happy BS, I found out on my own what was really wrong My SSD (solid
Update: Teaser Coming
Sorry for the recent lack of descriptions in my posts. The Patton V2 Project is a rehash, revisit, reboot, wahtever you want to call it but in essence is a research and design development project whereby mistakes are corrected in anticipation of the forthcoming deck plans. I recently posted the profile view and will now cease further submission of orthos until much later due to the start of the deck plans. Yes, you heard correct, deck plans. :)
Currently, I am stuck on Deck 1, Main Bridge. Deciding on a design format isn't easy as there have been many published designs in the past of bridges, some have been seen in the movies and Tv whil
Update
So two views have been resubmitted for the Patton with the third well on it's way. While starting the Profile, I realized just how screwed up it was...I have no idea what the heck I was thinking...guess it goes back to what i wrote about in the previous journal. Anywho, it's getting corrected. If you haven't already noticed, I will be phasing out the original submissions for the Patton as they will be null and void, but the good thing is that after the orthos are re-completed, the deck plans will follow. I will be holding off doing the sections until they are done, just so I can have a more accurate set of sections.
Stay tuned.
